August marks the start to a new fiscal year for AAF-Dothan. I am excited and beyond blessed to serve as your President along beside a wonderful group of Board of Directors for another term. A coordinator for AAF District 7 once told me that being a part of AAF is about being a part of something bigger than yourself. They were exactly right. At the end of last year, AAF-Dothan established a Public Service initiative and selected a non-profit each quarter to give back to. Because of your contributions, we were able to give the Wiregrass Area Food Bank a large amount of canned goods and a check to help them during the holidays. Because of your kindness and compassion, we were able to give the House of Ruth numerous items to help women and children in need. Motivational author, Catherine Pulsifer once said, “Never underestimate what a simple gesture can do. It is the little things that you do that make a big difference in other people’s lives.” Thank you all for your generous donations and support to these great causes. We are looking forward to continuing this initiative throughout this year.
As we begin this year, I would like to encourage each member to join a committee and get involved. It could be something as simple as joining the membership committee and greeting guests. It could mean joining the communications committee and helping out with Social Media. Or for the brave, it could be joining the American Advertising Awards committee and helping organize a rock star ADDY Show. Whichever committee that sparks your interest, we have a place for you! Please do not hesitate to contact myself or a board member and let us know where you would like serve. We are looking forward to an awesome year filled with phenomenal guest speakers and networking events. Thank you for making AAF-Dothan such an exceptional organization to be a part of.
